Corporate giving

At a local level, we aim to build long-term relationships with communities touched by our business operations. We channel our investment through cross sector collaboration, promoting engagement and dialogue between communities and organisations that represent their interests.

We are working in partnership with the Devon Community Foundation and Exeter City Council to help vulnerable and excluded people in Exeter gain the skills, motivation and self-confidence they need to get back into training, work or even volunteering. Friends Provident has secured the continuity of the Exeter Positive Steps Fund, which awards grants to local good causes that make a real difference to the employability of individuals, and the quality of people’s lives.

We also have a presence on the board of the South Wiltshire Strategic Alliance. Local Strategic Partnerships are non-statutory, multi-agency partnerships that allow organisations to work co-operatively, change the ways they work, reallocate resources and 'bend' their mainstream programmes to tackle issues that really matter to local people.

We have worked in partnership with Mole Valley District Council, participating in a traffic congestion initiative to improve access and traffic flow in the area as well as beginning discussions with the local Community Planning Group. We are also sponsors of the Mole Valley Sport Council Awards, an event that encourages 113 member clubs within Mole Valley, which represent 32 different sports to work with the District Council.

Friends Provident believes that the ability to balance work and non-work commitments is key to attracting and retaining motivated and highly skilled employees. We aim to promote good work-life balance by supporting a range of cultural and sporting events such as the Salisbury International Arts Festival and the Childrens Great West Run. In addition to these events, we support the following organisations through our annual memberships and grants.
