Finals Day 2010 - The Wicket Takers and Partnership Breakers
Throughout the Friends Provident t20, the role of the bowler has become increasingly important. The ability to put the brakes on with subtle variations in pace, slower ball bouncers, yorkers and everything in between will be key for the bowling attacks on Finals Day.
Alfonso Thomas (Somerset)
Thomas has been in outstanding form with the ball throughout the competition leading the way with 31 wickets to his name at 13.35 runs apiece including taking three wickets in an innings on six consecutive occasions. His unerring accuracy both early in the innings and at the death will be key to Somerset's hopes on Finals Day.
Chris Wright (Essex Eagles)
Wright is the spearhead of an Essex attack based which has a knack of strangling teams with their accurate bowling and excellent support in the field. Wright has been one of the ever presents in the Eagles side leading the way for the Eagles with 20 wickets in the season so far.
Danny Briggs (Hampshire Royals)
Briggs has been one of the standout young performers in the competition, with his slow left arm spin accounting for 27 wickets at just 14.29 runs apiece ahead of Finals Day. At just 19 years of age, he has a bright future ahead and the Royals will be looking to Briggs to show that potential on Finals Day.
Dirk Nannes (Nottinghamshire Outlaws)
Often there is no substitute for raw pace and Nannes' pace will test the Outlaws opponents on Finals Day to the full extent. As the leading wicket-taker in all t20 cricket, and with 17 wickets in the Friends Provident t20 to date, Nannes will form a two-pronged left arm attack with Ryan Sidebottom as the Outlaws chase their second t20 title.
