Friends Life Online Services ("the Service") Terms and Conditions of Use

Please read through the following terms and conditions as, by using the Service, you agree to be bound by them. The term "You" is used throughout these terms and conditions of use to refer to you or anybody using this Extranet website or Service Integration and its electronic content, including accessing on-line application for Bonds, Pensions and Life Assurance ("financial products") and other services and features.

1. This is what the Service is

The Service is owned and operated by Friends Life Limited ("FLL") . The Service provides you, through this website, with access to client information and limited servicing functionality (the level of access being communicated to you separately by us) via an online service to our computer systems. The functionality available through the Service is there for convenience only and we make no warranties as to its quality or fitness for purpose. As a user with us your relationship, in certain circumstances, may, also be governed by other agreements including our standard Terms of Business and Legal Framework Services Agreement. You acknowledge and understand that the information and functionality available to you is subject to express restrictions set out below as there are a number of laws and regulations imposed on the distribution of the information access to which is provided by this Service and the countries to which such information can be directed. It is your responsibility to be aware of and to observe all applicable laws and regulations of any relevant jurisdiction.

Friends Life Limited does not seek to exclude or limit any liability it may have under the Financial Services and Markets Act 2000 or the rules of its Regulators

2. Your username and password

Your username is to be used as an identification code in conjunction with your password to enable you to access the Service. You are responsible for keeping the password confidential, and for any and all acts or omissions that occur using your username and password.

You must not do any of the following: let any other person (including multiple users on a network) access the Service using your username and password, fail to notify us immediately of any unauthorised use of your username and password, Online Services account or any other breach of security; attempt to gain unauthorised access to the Service, other Online Services accounts or computer systems or networks connected to the Service; assign or transfer these terms and conditions in any way.

3. We can change or discontinue the service

We can make changes to the information, products and services contained in the Service at any time. If you fail to comply with any of these terms we can discontinue the Service.

4. Copyright 

Unless otherwise stated copyright in the whole and every part of this site belongs to Friends Life Limited or other Friends Life companies.  Except for you downloading pages of the Service for dealing with enquiries authorised by the terms and conditions no part of the Service may be used, sold, licensed, copied, stored, transmitted, reproduced or incorporated into any other web site in whole or in any part in any manner or form or in or on any media to any person without prior written consent.

You may provide hyperlinks to this site only with our prior permission. You may request such permission by sending an email to Friends Life. Please include in your request your name, address, telephone number and a brief description of your site and why you would like to establish a link to this site.

5. You must indemnify us  

You will indemnify us against any losses, claims, costs, liabilities and actions which we incur and which are brought against us by any persons as a result of your negligence and/or breach of these Terms and Conditions of Use.

6. Cookies

Cookies are small text files that a web site transfers to a visitor's browser or hard drive.

This site uses cookies to identify users and personalise their visit by customising web pages for them.  Information is also used to provide statistics and to monitor and analyse how parts of this site is used.

Any personal information collected will be kept in the strictest confidence and will not be sold, traded or rented to others.  However, we may disclose personal data to other companies within the Friends Life group of companies.

These Terms and Conditions and the use by you of the Service are governed by English Law. By accessing the Service you agree to submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the English Courts in relation to any claim or dispute arising out of your use of the Service.
